Casting

As a group we decided to have each group member be part of the music video, this would be more reliable as we would do anything to do as well as possible for our project. In our band, we decided that there would be 2 girls and 2 guys and 1 main female lead.

Audrey and I preferred to part of the band, Juliette did not mind what part she had in the music video but still wanted to be able to be behind the camera. Whereas Brandon preferred to be part of the band but didn't mind being the lead; since Ms Blackborow suggested he would be a good lead singer. We chose a 5th person to be part of the music video, this had to be someone with confidence and experience in acting; this summed up our chosen actor Jacob. We then had to have a screen test to decide on who, out of our chosen actor out of the group, Jacob, and Brandon, would be the lead singer.

Below are the screen tests of the two:

Filming Screen Test

In the end, our final decisions concluded to:

Jacob:

After watching his screen test, though he did not know all the words, he emitted a singers aura and charisma we needed. He also had acting experience and can sing very well, making him a perfect candidate for the lead singer. He is also quite close to Juliette, the female lead, giving a convincing performance.

Juliette:

Juliette was chosen as the female lead in the music video as she knew the song the best. This also allowed her to have time behind the camera which she wanted most. She also knew Jacob, the lead singer, the best, so their acting would be more natural since they would be more comfortable.

Brandon:

Despite being a guitarist, he can pull of the drums better than Audrey and I. He also wanted time behind the camera so if he were to be the lead singer, he would not have the opportunity to do any filming.

Audrey:

Audrey already has experience with playing the guitar and she was casted as one of the female guitarists in our AS prelim, giving her confidence in front of the camera so she's more comfortable in that role.

Chrystal(Me):

I felt most comfortable on bass despite not being a bass player, but being comfortable on the bass would give me more confidence than on any other instrument.

With this we had our 2 females, 2 males band and the 1 female lead sorted for our music video.
