Shoot Day: 12th November

This shoot was solely for our band scenes, with this decided, we were able to focus on the band without any time wasted on costume changes. Having so much time for band allowed us to get into character and perform at our best.
Band Set Up
For the set up, we had the guitar and the bass on each side with one amp each. The drum kit is at the back in the middle with the microphone in the middle.

Lighing and Band Performance
This time, Jacob was with us, so we were able to film the wide of the band performance. Yet again, Juliette wasn't performing so she had to direct us as we were performing. Also taking into account of what we wrote down from our previous shoot, we remembered to straighten mine and Audrey's hair and put red lipstick on me, although it was a small change it helped build on our band image, making it more stylized.
Different angle on close up
After filming the wide of the band, we decided to film the close ups of each band member, starting with Jacob since we don't have a lot of filming time with him then we do with the other band members. We then realised that our music video would be too static if all the shots are shot straight on and decided to shoot a variety of shot angles, like the image above.

Another way we thought to help make the music video less static was shooting with the dolly:

Although adding some camera movement would make it less static, when we watched the footage over, it was not what we wanted and we decided to scrap the idea.

What really helped with my performance was our establishing our characters personas. For me, my character is the 'cool' bassist, as most bassists are pretty laid back and into their bass playing. This meant i was able to be different to myself and get into character, however once the music was over, I was back to being my 'no so cool' self.

After looking over the footage we got from the shoot, our overall performance had improved a lot. Audrey and I dont look as nervous as the first shoot and as for Jacob, his lip-syncing had improved from before. However the problem we found was that the mic was too high and would cover his mouth when he's singing. Therefore we decided to schedule a reshoot with the mic lowered so we could see him lip-syncing.
